The Wilbanks Child Endangerment and Sexual Exploitation (CEASE) Clinic at the University of Georgia School of Law is the first of its kind in the nation, representing survivors of child sexual abuse in civil lawsuits and juvenile court dependency proceedings. The clinic not only provides direct representation to survivors, but also serves as a teaching center as part of the University of Georgia School of Law. Through a partnership with the University of Georgia School of Social Work, CEASE also provides trauma-informed case management, referral, and advocacy services to clients. In 2017 the clinic established an annual conference and in 2020 began organizing other events related to their mission that bring practitioners and scholars together to educate the legal community on issues and themes of child endangerment, sexual abuse, and exploitation.
