Join
us to take a whirlwind look at 26 websites that can be useful
for information gathering during law school and beyond. The seminar
will also help raise your awareness of the types of legal topic
websites out there and help you determine good sources of information.
The Library Offences Act, and a Friendly
Reminder to Be Extra Quiet in the Annex
The Law Library's collection includes
a wealth of historical materials, including access to centuries of old
(as well as current!) English statutes. See a sample below of one close
to our hearts.
At today's exchange rate, the 40 shillings penalty imposed in 1898
would be roughly equivalent to $280 U.S.! We won't fine you 40
shillings for talking on your cell phone in the Annex, but we will take
this opportunity to remind you that the Annex is designated as an
ultra-quiet zone and ask you to refrain from talking or using your cell
phone in that area.
