TAX INCENTIVES ILLEGAL?
Abstract
The legal ambiguity of states' use of tax incentives to attract industry has been brought to the attention of the U.S. Supreme Court in a case involving the state of Ohio . Georgia Law Professor Walter Hellerstein said it is "anybody's guess" as to whether or not the Ohio ruling will affect similar cases in lower courts, and suggested Congress step in to resolve "the mess we're in."
