Openings of Jacksonville, Tampa Middle District historical exhibits are fruits of a long-range plan

Abstract

Professor Donald E. Wilkes Jr. was mentioned in the 11th Circuit Historical News for taking part in the grand opening of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida's Historical Committee's Tampa exhibit highlighting groundbreaking cases. Wilkes was serving as a judicial clerk for the late U.S. District Court Judge Ben Krentzman in 1970 when the judge ordered the governor of Florida to comply with the Court's desegregation order. The case is featured in the exhibit. The article was written by Phillip A. Buhler and Raymond T. "Tom" Elligett Jr. and appeared in the summer 2010 issue of the newsletter.
