Defiant to the last, SS Lt. Gen. Gottlob Berger, chief of the SS Main Office and convicted of responsibility for the murder of Allied prisoners of war, hears the Tribunal sentence him to 25 years in prison. His was the stiffest sentence among 19 meted out. Two of the 21 defendants in the case were acquitted.
