In addition to cataloged items, the Rusk Center also holds a collection of items owned by Dean Rusk including this photograph taken by famous photographer Richard Avedon. Taken in the early 1990's, Avedon who worked for Vogue and The New Yorker sent a silver print of the black and white portrait to Dean Rusk. The photograph is matted and framed in Rusk Hall, and the letter Avedon wrote to Dean Rusk is included in the physical exhibit currently on display.
