Shoring up on Shore Protection

Some of Georgia's most prized real estate is located along the ecologically sensitive and bio-diverse coast. Many of these areas provide essential ecosystem services. Georgia regulates how close development activities can occur in proximity to the beach under the Shore Protection Act. This panel discussed the need for new legislation, what options are available based on scientific understanding, and practical limitations in enforcing shorelines regulation.
