Abstract

Mr. Gribbon, who is known for his skill in guiding corporations through takeover bids, has practiced law for 40 years. His career has spanned the fields of regulatory and corporate practice, litigation and tax law. His clients have included Proctor and Gamble, Eli Lilly, Union Pacific, Penn Central, Du Pont, and Exxon.

Gribbon served several years as chairman of the managing board of Covington and Burling, one of the largest law firms in the United States.

Before joining the firm in 1946, Gribbon clerked for Judge Learned Hand of the Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.

He is a graduate of Harvard Law School, where he was case editor of the law review.
