UGA Delayed Opening for tomorrow (10/11)

Wednesday, October 10, 2018 This message provides guidance to members of the Law School community in light of UGA's planned delayed opening for tomorrow, Thursday (10/11). As part of that commitment, the law school's standing crisis-response team has electronically convened and has determined the following:
  • All law school classes scheduled to begin before 11:00 a.m. are cancelled. Please note that your professor will communicate with you about scheduling any necessary make up class.
  • The Law Library will close at 11 p.m. tonight and will reopen at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Its current hours of operation can be found at http://law.uga.edu/law-library
The safety of our community is our #1 priority. Please remember that your primary source for emergency news and information relating to the University of Georgia is emergency.uga.edu . Please continue to visit this site and monitor weather and news outlets for current Hurricane Michael predictions for the next 24-48 hours. The law school will update its homepage and social media platforms based on information from emergency.uga.edu and other UGA communications, including UGAAlert. As necessary, it also will send emails to students, staff and faculty regarding law-school specific impacts of any University-wide decisions. Lastly, students from an affected area or with family in the impact zone are encouraged to reach out to Casey Graham (casey.graham@uga.edu ) if they need information about resources and support. Due to the possible impact of Hurricane Michael, the University of Georgia will delay opening its Athens campus until 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11. The first classes will begin at 11 a.m. Business operations on the Athens campus will resume their normal schedules beginning at 10 a.m.

All university residence halls will remain open. For on-campus residents in University Housing, please contact your community front desk or RA with any questions or concerns and please report any facilities-related problems.

Information about dining and other campus services will be posted on Twitter and emergency.uga.edu as it becomes available.
