Swindall argues before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit
Abstract
Swindall argues before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit
Thursday, May 10, 2018Third-year student Ryan F. Swindall recently presented oral argument before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit as part of the law school’s Appellate Litigation Clinic. The question in the Hayes v. Plumley case was whether the client's false confession was coerced and whether the client should get an evidentiary hearing to determine if the medical examiner held the statutory qualifications to perform autopsies. Second-year student Alexander "Alex" Weathersby assisted in arguing the government's position in practices.
