Virtual legal webinar to tackle eviction and renters' rights
Abstract
A free virtual legal webinar for Georgia renters who are worried about eviction and would like to learn more about their rights will take place Thursday, June 24, at noon.
Sponsored by the University of Georgia School of Law's Public Interest Practicum and the Georgia Legal Services Program, the webinar will cover tenants' rights, Georgia's rental assistance programs and what will happen when the state's eviction moratorium expires on June 30.
"Since this clinic is being held virtually we are hopeful that we can reach people from all across the state who have concerns or need guidance on how to navigate issues due to renting and possible evictions," said Elizabeth M. Grant, the director of the Public Interest Practicum.
Interested individuals can obtain the Zoom link at https://ugapip.as.me/ or can watch the webinar on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/georgialegalservices/. For more information, please call (706) 542-5213.
This webinar is part of services funded by a recent gift from the Callaway Foundation, which allows the School of Law to expand the provision of legal services through its experiential learning programs, clinics and externships to rural and legally underserved communities in Georgia.
