Appellate Litigation Clinic wins case in U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit
Abstract
Georgia Law’s Appellate Litigation Clinic recently scored a victory in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit in the case of Ace Patterson v. Secretary, Florida Dept. of Corrections. Agreeing with the arguments raised by the clinic, the Court held that a habeas petition filed by Patterson was not barred as “second or successive.” Alumna Maria Rivera-Diaz (J.D.’15) argued the case before the Court, and, along with alumnus Zachary J. "Zack" Kelehear (J.D.’15), submitted briefing in the case.
