Click and Go: Ensuring Smooth Access to Online Resources
Abstract
As the percentage of holdings to which libraries provide electronic access increases, librarians also assume responsibility for a new type of material maintenance that wasn't taught in library school.
Dead links, regardless of the reason for the breakdown, frustrate users and hurt a library's credibility to deliver access to needed information. By systematically reviewing web links in both the website and catalog, librarians can address broken links before anyone else discovers them
