Women’s Leadership in Academia events are for women professors, librarians and clinicians interested in pursuing leadership opportunities in legal education. To date, representatives from more than 65 law schools have attended past events. The first conference was hosted by the University of Georgia School of Law in July 2018 with future conferences planned at the University of Virginia School of Law (2019), the University of California Los Angeles School of Law (2020) and Brigham Young University J. Reuben Clark Law School (2021).
As the Women’s Leadership in Academia initiative moves forward, future conferences will rotate among partner schools each year. In addition, the AALS Annual Meeting will serve as a way to bring together those interested in women’s leadership advancement and related issues in addition to providing leadership programming, giving women legal educators a chance to network and gathering feedback on the continuing initiative. Each year, please look for UGA’s Women’s Leadership in Academia events at the AALS Annual Meeting.
