United States Senator Howell Heflin from Alabama delivered the address. Pope served as a member of the Board of Visitors for the University of Georgia School of Law. Seiler, a trial attorney and former president of the State Bar of Georgia, is also the owner of the University of Georgia's live mascots, Uga.
