Selected as a Law Day speaker at the University of Georgia School of Law, to speak on April 26, 1980, Civiletti's address to the University of Georgia School of Law was instead delivered by Roger Young, information director of the FBI. Civiletti had been detained in Washington immediately after an aborted Iranian hostage rescue attempt.
