Alumnus Harold Melton (J.D.’91) becomes presiding justice of the Georgia Supreme Court
Wednesday, January 11, 2017On Jan. 6, 2017, Harold D. Melton (J.D.’91) was sworn in as the presiding justice of the Georgia Supreme Court. He was appointed to the court in 2005, after serving as the state governor’s executive counsel and as an assistant attorney general.
Other alumni and alumnae serving as legal leaders in our state include State Bar of Georgia President Patrick T. O’Connor (J.D.’81), State Bar of Georgia Treasurer Kenneth Bryant "Ken" Hodges III (J.D.’91) and State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division President Jennifer Campbell Mock (J.D.’07).
Additionally, W. Pope Langdale III (J.D.’92) is currently president of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.
