Process Before Technology: The Story of UGA Law Library's Surprisingly Simple Item Request Webform
Abstract
In this panel discussion, we will open with a short 5 minute video sharing our law library's story of creating a contact-less patron-initiated checkout request process during COVID-19. This session will feature members of our library's access services and technical services teams in conversation together to share stories from their unique perspectives. We will talk about how we uses a combination of data and user experiences from Fall 2020 to simplify our process and launching a brand new webform in Spring 2021. The lessons we learned through trial and error were something we think all libraries can benefit from revisiting: process before technology and how to communicate more effectively.
